Studies show that early AAA detection in adults 65 and older can reduce AAA-related deaths by 84.9% among males and 81% among females with healthcare system cost savings.

Our clinic will perform a comprehensive history and physical exam to identify and manage AAA risk factors including performing a point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) scan of your abdominal aorta. All of our doctors are certified to perform this scan and have been doing so for years working in Emergency Departments across Canada. This will require only a few minutes of your time and does not involve anything harmful such a radiation like an X-ray or CT scan would.

If we do not find a AAA we will update you and your primary care provider (Family Doctor or Nurse Practitioner). If we find a AAA, we will take the appropriate next steps to order confirmatory imaging or arrange follow-up with vascular surgeon.
